The official music video for international musician Camilo, a five-time Latin GRAMMY® winner and three-time GRAMMY® nominee, released on YouTube. The song is called “PALPITA,” and it features a duet with Diljit Dosanjh, a popular singer from Punjab.
With both artists performing in the middle of a desert, the video, directed by Jon Primo—who has directed videos for international music artists like Nicki Minaj, Diddy, and Doja Cat, to name a few—is as unique as “PALPITA” itself. Its aesthetic perfectly matches the song’s fusion of rhythms, cultures, and messages.
With the release of “PALPITA” on August 31st, which is already accessible on all digital platforms, Camilo demonstrates once more the ability of music to bring people together, touch hearts, and forge connections despite language barrier.
The Latin music icon Camilo, who was born in Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia, stated the following about this special partnership: “I have always felt a fascination for Indian culture and its traditions.” I got to go once and was instantly enamoured with it. Years later, I became aware of the globalisation of Punjabi music and the way musicians like Diljit are spreading their sound, culture, and music. It was a great surprise to see Diljit’s vision come to fruition because I had long respected him, even before I was approached about this cooperation. I learned a lot from working with him in the studio because I got to see and experience firsthand his enormous heart, the depth of his melodies, his generosity, and that of his staff. Not only is this song something we accomplished, but it also holds great significance for my career and the relationship we are fostering between our countries.
In just one month after its debut, the song has amassed over 11 million views thanks to the potent combination of Punjabi and Spanish.
The Los 40 Music Awards, which honour the best Spanish and international music of 2023, will be held in Madrid, Spain on December 3rd. In addition to this release, Colombian singer, musician, and songwriter Camilo is working on his next record production and another music release that will be announced soon.
