Filmmaker Rohit Shetty expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and said that his much-anticipated film ‘Sooryavanshi’ will be released on Diwali.

A few hours after the Maharashtra government, lead by Uddhav Thackeray, announced the decision to reopen cinemas on October 22, filmmaker Rohit Shetty praised the CM and stated that his much-anticipated film would be released during Diwali.

The cop-premiere drama’s date was extended three times due to the coronavirus outbreak, which forced movie theatres across the country to close.
The film was set to be released on March 24 last year, but was postponed again and was set to arrive in theatres on April 30 this year. The makers later announced in June 2020 that the film would hit screens during Diwali, but it was postponed again and was set to arrive in theatres on April 30 this year.
Following Ajay Devgn’s ‘Singham,’ ‘Singham Returns,’ and Ranveer Singh’s ‘Simmba,’ ‘Sooryavanshi’ is the fourth instalment in Shetty’s cop world.
Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn also star in the film.
The film is produced by Rohit Shetty Picturez in collaboration with Dharma Productions and Cape of Good Films, and is presented by Reliance Entertainment.
