The Franchise “Aashiqui”
“Aashiqui,” starring Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal, debuted in cinemas in July 1990 and marked the start of the “Aashiqui” franchise. Released in April 2013, the follow-up starred Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor. In September 2022, Kartik Aaryan revealed the third installment of the franchise.
“Aashiqui 3” is like a dream come true for me, as Aaryan stated in an interview with Variety about the film. “I grew up watching the timeless classic ‘Aashiqui,'” he added. I am appreciative of the chance to work with Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt, but I also feel privileged. Being a huge admirer of Anurag Basu’s work, working with him on this project would undoubtedly influence me in a variety of ways.
